‘ROOTED in PEACE’ is an inspiring and empowering personal story of Greg Reitman who shares his past experiences of living in a world filled with terror, encountering the Gulf War while working on a kibbutz in Israel, witnessing the aftermath of Hiroshima, Japan and later the grievances of 911. Greg challenges the viewer; on what will it take for humanity to wake up and to stop the cycle of war & violence. In his search for peace, Greg unlocks the human technological key learning of the inner nature of the brain & heart and demonstrates how change begins within oneself.
PROJECT SUMMARY:
‘ROOTED in PEACE’ challenges viewers to examine their values as Americans and human beings. Today we are at war within ourselves, with our environment, and with the world. Director and award-winning filmmaker, Greg Reitman takes us on film journey to take notice, stop the cycle of violence, and proactively seek ways to find personal and geopolitical balance. Relying on memoir but also interviews with such luminaries and activists as Deepak Chopra, His Holiness The Dalai Lama, music legends Donovan and Pete Seeger, film director David Lynch, Noble Peace Laureate Mairead Maguire, Ted Turner, Archbishop Desmond Tutu, world renown green architect, William McDonough, neuroscientist Dan Siegel and many others, Reitman heeds former president Bill Clinton’s dictum: “If we just stop and think, the world would be a better place.” And so in asking viewers to do the same, Reitman poses the basic question: How do we want to live?
Sparking a personal quest to understand human consciousness, ROOTED in PEACE provokes viewers to return to balance within themselves, among humankind, in the natural world. It awakens them to a more peaceful reality and asks them to find the ways and means to fulfill their deep desire to live in a world filled with love and compassion for all life.

In 1995, GREG REITMAN was hiking with three friends in the Blue Mountains of New South Wales, near Sydney, Australia. In the interior of the mountains they came upon lush waterfalls and stunning cascades. It was there, under the most spectacular Blue Mountain waterfall, that Greg had the epiphany of creating a production company called BLUE WATER ENTERTAINMENT. Harnessing that passion, drive and endurance, Greg began his filmmaking journey toward creating and producing environmentally conscious films for the big screen that would capture the hearts, minds and souls of the audience.
Today, BLUE WATER ENTERTAINMENT is a leading independent production company, developing and producing content in narrative, television, music, short form and documentary styles. GREG REITMAN is the founder of Blue Water Entertainment, Inc an independent production company focusing on environmentally consciousness-based entertainment. Widely regarded as Hollywood’s “Green Producer,” GREG REITMAN produced the 2008 SUNDANCE Audience Award-winning feature documentary “FUEL.” He wrote, produced, and directed the feature documentary “HOLLYWOOD’S MAGICAL ISLAND- CATALINA” (2003), syndicated on American Public Television (APT). GREG REITMAN is currently in production on his new feature documentary film, “ROOTED in PEACE.”
He is the CREATOR and EXECUTIVE PRODUCER of the online webisode program “ON THE GREEN CARPET.” Greg is a green correspondent for “TONIC” ‘THE ENVIRONMENTALIST and ODYESEEY NETWORKS leading online news agencies that focuses on green and spiritual issues and trends in the global marketplace. Greg was also written up in Movie Maker Magazine as one of the top ten producers in the Entertainment industry making content that makes a difference in the world.
